MTB

Flowy and mellow, or technical and steep? Grasslands or high-elevation forest?

The riding around Silver City has it all, and some of our favorite MTB loops can be found below

Start downtown, right in front of our shop

Route begins with a mellow cruise through neighborhood streets before hitting the Cheyenne St Trailhead. After an initial 250 ft climb on purpose-built trail, the fun descending begins until it’s time to cross over to the Brewer Hill & San Vicente Creek trail systems. Finish up with a cruise up historic Bullard Ave to finish up the loop. 1.5ish hrs.

Fort Bayard Trails

Looking for mellower, faster trails? Look no further than the trails in the grasslands and hills of this trail system. The further north you go, the rougher it gets. Stay south of the Big Tree to keep it chill, climb up to the Divide via the old wagon roads to the north if you want it rugged, really rugged.

Pinos Altos Range High Country

No one ever said this riding is easy, and we won’t either. Plenty of climbing and plenty of technicality can be found up on these ponderosa ridges and wet canyons. The CDT can hold snow for a while up high, call the shop for condition updates. Looking for cooler temps in the summer? Look no further.

Signal Peak Challenge, full course: 21.5 mi, advanced

Little Walnut Trails

Really mixed riding in the oak/pinon/juniper forest just north of town. There are easy loops here, but don’t be afraid to find the Dragon Trail for a hyper-technical & steep descent, or get over to the beauty of Bear Mountain via the CDT.
