Will this work on my older eTap setup, not just AXS?
Yes — it's the same battery across SRAM eTap and eTap AXS components, so it's backward compatible.

Does it work with Eagle Transmission?
Yes — Transmission derailleurs use the same AXS battery as the rest of the ecosystem, with roughly 25 hours of runtime per charge.

Do I really need a backup if I'm just passing through on tour?
If your bike is fully AXS (no mechanical backup shifting), yes — a spare battery is the single easiest failure point to eliminate before a multi-day trip, and it's the one thing that's hard to improvise trailside.

Should I remove it when traveling with the bike?
Yes — vibration during transport can drain it slowly. Pull the battery for flights or long drives.
